Our LonWorks to Fiber optic converters can be used to interconnect two LonWorks FT-T10 networks or devices over a long distance.

Our Lon to FO converters can be used as peer-peer modems or in a multi drop type network architecture.

Our LonWorks to Fiber Optic converters provide a reliable and cost-effective solution for extending LonWorks FT-T10 communication beyond the limitations of conventional copper cabling. By converting LonWorks signals to fiber optic communication, the converters eliminate the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI), radio frequency interference (RFI), electrical noise, lightning surges, and ground potential differences that are commonly encountered in industrial and commercial installations. This ensures stable, high-quality data transmission even in electrically noisy environments.

These converters are ideal for connecting building automation controllers, HVAC systems, lighting control systems, energy management systems, access control systems, and other LonWorks-enabled devices located in different buildings or across large industrial facilities. They enable long-distance communication without affecting the performance or integrity of the existing LonWorks network.

The converters require no changes to the existing network configuration and operate transparently, making installation quick and straightforward. Their rugged industrial design ensures reliable operation in demanding environments while minimizing maintenance requirements. The use of fiber optic communication also enhances network security and provides complete electrical isolation between connected devices. Our Lon to FO converters are suitable for commercial buildings, airports, hospitals, manufacturing plants, utility facilities, transportation infrastructure, and smart building applications where dependable long-distance LonWorks communication is essential. Both multimode and single-mode fiber options are available to meet varying distance and application requirements. They support reliable data transmission over extended distances, improve overall network availability, and help reduce communication failures in mission-critical automation and building management applications.

Depending on the type of fiber (multi mode or single mode), distance and network topology we have the following models available.
