EST3 to BACnet / Modbus Gateway (FPC N54B-132) is highly powerful, superior, completely configurable and productive Building & Industrial Automation gateway for integrators to effortlessly interface devices to networks in commercial buildings and industrial plants.
FPC N54B-132 Gateway model supports EST3, BACnet and Modbus protocols. It is a Bi-directional Converter that can be configured as a Client on EST3 side and a Server/Client on BACnet / Modbus protocol interface.
When configured as a EST3 client, the gateway can read data from your EST3 fire panel and publish it as BACnet / Modbus data. Also, it can write commands sent from the BACnet / Modbus side to the EST3 fire panel.
When configured as a BACnet / Modbus client, the gateway can read data from your BACnet / Modbus devices and publish it as EST3 type data. Also, it can write commands sent from the EST3 side to the BACnet / Modbus devices.
The gateway can be configured to behave as a server on BACnet / Modbus interfaces. This mode is useful when data exchange is required between a EST3 client (for eg. SCADA) and a BACnet / Modbus client
(for eg. a Building Management System).
The gateway can be configured to behave as a client on both EST3 and BACnet / Modbus interfaces.
These gateways have benefitted system integrators worldwide with its powerful line of gateways. Additionally, this gateway runs the same protocol conversion software on a productive and cost efficient platform backed by the experience, engineering expertise and technically proven support that integrators have come to expect from EST3 to BACnet / Modbus Converter.

Scenarios:
Scenario 1
- On a site you have several Schneider Ion energy meters that can provide data output on EST3.
- The site has a building management system on BACnet /Modbus that needs the energy data from the Schneider ion meters.
- Since the Schneider ion meters provide data output on EST3 and the building management system understands BACnet / Modbus, a direct data exchange is not possible.
Solution:
The devices cannot directly communicate with each other as they are not on the same protocol. You need something that will convert data from BACnet / Modbus to EST3 and vice versa.
ProtoConvert’s EST3 to BACnet / Modbus Converter will be an excellent solution for this requirement. The gateway reads data from the Energy meters on EST3. It caches this data internally and then provides it on BACnet / Modbus when requested from the Building Management System.
Scenario 2
- EST3 PLC needs to read data from BACnet / Modbus based Thermostats.
- On the other site we have Thermostats that can provide data output on BACnet / Modbus.
- The site has a PLC on EST3 that needs the temperature data from thermostat on BACnet / Modbus.
- Since the thermostats provide data output on BACnet / Modbus and the PLC understands only EST3 and direct exchange is not possible.
