Modbus protocol is very commonly used as a communication interface for devices.
The most popular flavors of Modbus in use today are Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP.
ProtoConvert offers excellent solutions to integrate your Modbus RTU and Modbus TCP devices on other communication protocols like BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, LonWorks, SNMP, JCI Metasys N2 and many others.
Our Modbus gateways are widely deployed in industrial automation, energy management, water treatment, manufacturing, HVAC, and building automation applications. They provide reliable protocol conversion between Modbus devices and heterogeneous control systems, enabling seamless communication, centralized monitoring, and efficient control without replacing existing field equipment or modifying the automation infrastructure.
All our protocol gateways can be configured to transfer data in both directions. In other words, using our gateways any of the following are possible:
Configure our gateway as Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP master and a server on the other protocol interface (like BACnet). In this mode your BACnet based controller/BAS/BMS/SCADA can read/write data from the Modbus devices via our gateway.
Configure our gateway as a Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP slave and as master/client on the other protocol interface (like BACnet). In this mode your Modbus based SCADA/Control system will be able to monitor and control devices on the other protocol.
Configure our gateway as a Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP slave and as a slave on the other protocol interface. This mode is for exchanging data between a Modbus and a non-modbus control system.
Configure our gateway as a Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP master and a master on the other protocol interface. This mode is useful for controlling a slave device on one protocol based on a sensor/data value on another protocol.
