Hochiki FireNet to BACnet / Modbus  Gateway (FPC N54B-133) is highly powerful, superior, completely configurable and productive Building & Industrial Automation gateway for integrators to effortlessly interface devices to networks in commercial buildings and industrial plants.

FPC N54B-133 Gateway model supports Hochiki FireNet, BACnet and Modbus protocols. It is a Bi-directional Converter that can be configured as a Client on Hochiki FireNet side and a Server/Client on BACnet / Modbus protocol interface.

When configured as a Hochiki FireNet client, the gateway can read data from your Hochiki FireNet fire panel and publish it as BACnet / Modbus data. Also, it can write commands sent from the BACnet / Modbus side to the Hochiki FireNet fire panel.

When configured as a BACnet / Modbus client, the gateway can read data from your BACnet / Modbus devices and publish it as Hochiki FireNet type data. Also, it can write commands sent from the Hochiki FireNet side to the BACnet / Modbus devices.

The gateway can be configured to behave as a server on BACnet / Modbus interfaces. This mode is useful when data exchange is required between a Hochiki FireNet client (for eg. SCADA) and a BACnet / Modbus client
(for eg. a Building Management System).

The gateway can be configured to behave as a client on both Hochiki FireNet and BACnet / Modbus interfaces.

These gateways have benefitted system integrators worldwide with its powerful line of gateways. Additionally, this gateway runs the same protocol conversion software on a productive and cost efficient platform backed by the experience, engineering expertise and technically proven support that integrators have come to expect from Hochiki FireNet to BACnet / Modbus Converter.

Scenarios

Scenario 1

  • On a site you have several Schneider Ion energy meters that can provide data output on Hochiki FireNet.
  • The site has a building management system on BACnet /Modbus that needs the energy data from the Schneider ion meters.
  • Since the Schneider ion meters provide data output on Hochiki FireNet and the building management system understands BACnet / Modbus, a direct data exchange is not possible.

Solution:

The devices cannot directly communicate with each other as they are not on the same protocol. You need something that will convert data from BACnet / Modbus to Hochiki FireNet and vice versa.

ProtoConvert’s  Hochiki FireNet to BACnet / Modbus Converter will be an excellent solution for this requirement. The gateway reads data from the Energy meters on Hochiki FireNet. It caches this data internally and then provides it on BACnet / Modbus when requested from the Building Management System.

Scenario 2

  • Hochiki FireNet needs to read data from BACnet / Modbus based Thermostats.
  • On the other site we have Thermostats that can provide data output on BACnet / Modbus.
  • The site has a PLC on Hochiki FireNet that needs the temperature data from thermostat on BACnet / Modbus.
  • Since the thermostats provide data output on BACnet / Modbus and the PLC understands only Hochiki FireNet and direct exchange is not possible.
