The Controller Area Network (CAN) protocol is a way of communication between electronic elements in a car, such as engine management systems, active suspension, central locking, air conditioning, and airbags, among others.

Using the CAN Protocol driver it is possible to configure the ProtoConvert gateway as a CAN passive client. It listens for incoming CAN data and parses the appropriate information, which is then published over protocols like Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, SNMP, ASCII and many more. The messages can be filtered based on their CAN message Ids and the incoming bytes of data can be read and presented as is.

You can easily connect your CAN devices to your control system without modifying the device. Simply connect, configure, and you’re ready to go!

We can create custom functions to manipulate the data. Some of the popular gateway combinations are:

Interface Modbus RTUModbus TCPBACnet MSTPBACnet IPSNMP
CANPG-100-194PG-101-194PG-102-194PG-103-194PG-104-194
